This User Content & Data Responsibility Policy explains how MEO Teknoloji ve Yazilim A.S. ("MEO", "we", "us", or "our") handles content created by users on our platform, and outlines the responsibilities of users regarding their content and data.
1. User-Generated Content
Our platform allows you to create, upload, and manage various types of content, including but not limited to:
- QR code configurations and destinations
- NFC touchpoint settings and interactions
- Micro pages, landing pages, and associated media
- Business information, logos, and branding materials
- Analytics configurations and tracking parameters
You are solely responsible for all content you create, upload, or make available through our Services ("User Content").
2. Content Ownership
You retain full ownership of your User Content. MEO does not claim any ownership rights over the content you create or upload to our platform.
However, by using our Services, you grant MEO a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of:
- Operating, maintaining, and providing the Services
- Ensuring technical compatibility and functionality
- Creating backups and maintaining data integrity
This license terminates when you delete your User Content or close your account, except where retention is required by law or where the content has been shared with or made available to third parties through your use of the Services.
3. License Grant
By uploading User Content, you represent and warrant that:
- You own the content or have all necessary rights and permissions to use it
- The content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other legal rights
- The content complies with all applicable laws and our Acceptable Use Policy
- You have obtained all necessary consents from individuals whose personal data may be included in the content
4. Data Responsibility
When you use MEO to collect data from your end users (through QR codes, NFC touchpoints, micro pages, or forms), you act as the data controller for that data. As a data controller, you are responsible for:
- Ensuring you have a valid legal basis for collecting and processing end-user data
- Providing appropriate privacy notices to your end users
- Responding to data subject access requests from your end users
- Complying with all applicable data protection laws (including KVKK and GDPR where applicable)
- Ensuring that your use of collected data complies with your own privacy policy
MEO acts as a data processor for end-user data collected through our platform and processes such data only in accordance with your instructions and our Data Processing Agreement.
5. Content Removal
We reserve the right to remove or disable access to User Content that:
- Violates our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy
- Infringes third-party intellectual property rights
- Contains illegal, harmful, or offensive material
- Is subject to a valid legal takedown request
Where possible, we will notify you before removing content and give you an opportunity to address the issue. In urgent situations (e.g., malware distribution, imminent harm), we may act immediately without prior notice.
6. Data Export and Portability
You can export your User Content and data at any time through your account settings. Upon account closure, you may request a copy of your data by contacting us at meo@meonow.com. We will provide your data in a structured, commonly used format within 30 days of your request.
After account closure, your data will be retained for 90 days to allow for recovery, after which it will be permanently deleted.
